Below are some of the people that we are helping.
Click on their name or picture to learn more about them.
(A note about Balinese names: Most Balinese,
both female and male, have one of eight first names - Ketut, Made, Putu,
Wayan, Kadek, Nyoman, Gusti, and Gede. In addition, their last names
are given names, not family names)
Ketut
Sri
Ketut is 22 years old and until Kupu-Kupu met her had
never left her home because of the crippling effect of polio.

Wayan Sayan
When Begonia first met Wayan he was a frail pale five year old
boy who spent his days and nights sitting down or lying down on
his bed. He cannot straighten his legs and cannot walk.
He cannot talk and only emits guttural sounds from his throat.
But he is mentally healthy and very bright and clever. He
needs more stimulation and attention. He needs to go to
school and his family needs money to buy him milk. We would
also like to get a physiotherapist to work with him and adapt
a bicycle for exercise.
