 Wayan
is 19 years old and severely physically and mentally handicapped. Before
KupuKupu nobody had ever approached the family to find out if they needed
any assistance. Her parents have tried their best to take care
of her but they had little knowledge of how to look after a handicapped
child. She needs to be feed and lies down all the time on
the floor. She cannot talk.
After
KupuKupu gave her a wheelchair, we helped the family learn how to take
care of her. We also gave her two special mattresses to help with
pressure sores that result from her lying down all of the time.
A
wheelchair, some mattresses and a little love have made a big difference
in Wayan's life.
