Bali is an island of 2.5 million people which subsist on tourism and traditional rice farming. The majority of the island's people are very poor and there is almost no support for the handicapped. It is not unusual to see a severely handicapped person dragging themselves on the ground with what little abilities they may have. This life is particularly harsh for children who are sometimes outcast by their families who cannot deal with the problems of a handicapped child. Kupu-Kupu Foundation is a non-profit organization and non-governmental organization (NGO) whose aim is to improve the lives of physically and mentally disabled children, adolescents and adults on the island of Bali, Indonesia. We are totally privately funded and always desperately in need of funds to keep our operations going. Please read about our work and help us in any way that you can. Just a little can make a big difference.
