Mask
Chair Tall A blend of cultures

Wayan
Chair "Wayans", or Puppets, are a way of telling ancient Balinese stories.
Puppeteers are highly regarded and apprentice for years. This
line of chairs has two genuine hand carved and painted puppets mounted on
the back. The design theme of these puppets is then
carried throughout the entire piece. This is fun piece that
surprises with each closer look. The detail and intricacy attest to
the uniqueness of this piece. Other designs in the collection use other puppets and
expand the Wayan themes. |

Padi
Chair "Padi"
in Balinese means a rice paddy. This example beautiful example of
traditional Balinese style painting leaves the canvas for a
contemporary 'sitting'. Intricately
depicted are scenes from the terraced rice fields
found in the hills around Ibud,
Bali. Cascading waterfalls that flow into the river
which tells a winding story through rice fields on the seat of the chair.
The back is carved with miniature penjores that adorn the temple
during the rice ceremonies.
